The Passed Few Days

Since I last posted things have been hopping.  Last weekend I had 4 dog shows in two days.  Thanks to my granddaughter, Kayla, and dear friend, Leslie, for helping me.  Jerry would have usually been there but he had his own obligations.  By the end of the weekend we were both exhausted and actually ready for Monday.  It is truly sad to say that you have to go back to work to get some rest, but this week that was true.

The Patchwork of Peace books arrived today.  They $70 and have 249 different stitch diagrams with a wonderful Index that includes lots of suggestions for stitch applications.

Sharon G has announced that she is releasing her book "Sense" next week and I will put my order in for it tomorrow.  So as soon as it hits the distributors we will have it shortly thereafter.

Threedles created another new piece that is just stunning.  As is her norm she has three color ways and they are just beautiful.  This piece is called Butterfly Effect. (see below)

Also the new wreath from Laura Perin is out. It is a Valentine Wreath.  What fun it would be if she did one for each holiday.

So many new designs and not enough time to stitch them all.  Well we are trying to help with that by offering a place for you to come and stitch with no outside interruptions, as long as you turn off your cell phone.  This Saturday is out stitch along for any projects that are being done as a group, ie.
AAN's Halloween Town.  Some of us have already finished the first part and will be at the shop to see.  Others will be working on their Seasonal Houses. So feel free to come and join us even if you aren't working on either of those projects but on one you choose.

Well I'm off to finish laundry, ugh.

Yesterday was a very interesting day.  We had a class at the shop and a potluck.  Dorothy is moving and it is with a heavy heart that I have to say goodbye. I have known her for many years and have found a woman with lots of promise in the needlepoint world. When I first met her she was young and only interested in doing cross stitch. There is nothing wrong with that but with a little encouragement she soon took up both hardanger  and needlepoint.  She has advanced to being a very capable teacher and designer.  I am so proud of her.  I will miss our conversations both on a personal  and needlepoint basis. I wish her and her family the best and look forward to her returning; monthly to continue to teach.

We also had a mishap as one of out dear friends and clients had a fall and broke her leg in two places.  So she will be out of commission for a while.  I pray for her speedy recovery.

Next week the shop will be receiving a supply of new magnets and to my surprise I was able to located the designer of the book "Patchwork of Peace".  She is sending us copies of that wonderful book that has a very large collection of stitches to stitch an American Flag or just to add to you library of stitch diagram books.

I personally am headed right back to try and get some stitching done on either the flag of my summer house. I guess I better decide which one.

Introductions

I thought I would try doing a blog again.  I have tried in the past, but with so much going on it went by the wayside.  Now I am more committed to make this work.

For those of you who don't know me, I am Vicki and I own Stitcher's Treasures in Escondido, CA.  But more importantly I am an avid stitcher.  I love Needlepoint, Cross Stitch, Hardanger, Counted Needlepoint and Specialty Fibers.  I am married and have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and one more on the way.  Then, of course, there are the fur babies, 3 cats and 4 collies.  l show two of my collies on a regular basis and will be breeding the two that I show when she is old enough.

Stitcher's Treasures is located in historic downtown Escondido, CA.  For those of you who are not familiar with that area of our globe we are 35 miles north of San Diego, CA and 20 miles east of the coast.  We carry a wide variety of Cross Stitch, Needlepoint, Counted Needlepoint and Hardanger.  Our fibers consist of  Caron Collection, Rainbow Gallery, Weeks Dye Works, Sampler Threads (Gentle Arts), Gloriana, Thread Gatherer, Vineyard Silk, Kreinik, Belle Soie, Dinky Dyes, Anchor, DMC etc.  We carry hand-dyed fabrics, blank needlepoint canvas, painted canvas.and all kinds of stitching accessories.

We offer classes and open stitching days, all of which are listed on our class web page.  On the open stitch Saturdays there are several stitch-alongs going on.  The newest being the Alessandra Adelaide's 2014 Halloween Town and Laura Perin's Holiday Wreath.  You are more than welcome to join us and you don't have to be working on either of those.  Open stitching is just that, open stitching, no requirements except to have fun. I do a monthly newsletter which is sent out through email.  We "welcome" special orders for items that we don't have in stock or don't carry on a regular basis.

If you are a member of Facebook we also have a fan page and a Twitter page.  Our website address is www.stitcherstreasures.com.  On Fridays we do our web work,  by updating and making the necessary changes to the website.

I don't wnat to bore you so I am going to leave this for now and get back to the web page.  Happy Valentine's Day and have a great weekend.
